Members were able to bring their families, dress down and take a day off from their normal duties to partake in fun activities across the base. The events held included a family fun walk, which also helped to promote fitness for members and their families, pictures in front of the new C-27J Spartan, a silent auction, bounce houses, computer games, and family movies. There were representatives from the Civil Air Patrol, local Veterans of Foreign War posts, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Also participating was the base fire department, which had their fire trucks on display and demonstrated to children how to escape from a building that is filled with smoke. This year's Family Day was coordinated through Faline Rowland, the Family Programs coordinator for the 179th AW in conjunction with many other entities on and off the installation. This event encourages unit members to bring their family and friends for a day of fun at their home station.
