Airmen from the 179th Airlift Wing and 200th RED HORSE, Det. 1, Mansfield, Ohio, joined United Way of Richland County's annual Day of Caring, a day with a mission of making a positive impact in the community.

Airmen joined approximately 200 volunteers from the community and spent part of their day completing much-needed community projects while increasing their awareness of local human service agencies.

While the 200 volunteers were spread over 40 locations in the local area, the group of Air National Guard members were concentrated around the Mansfield YMCA, where they mulched the children's playground area while others cleaned the drained pool and painted throughout the pool area.

The airmen of the 179th Airlift Wing and 200th RED HORSE are active in supporting their local community which has always remained an active supporter of the Air National Guard. The Air National Guard is always on mission as a first choice for Homeland Operations such as natural disasters and search and rescue operations. When called upon, the Air National Guard is ready to support their community, state and nation.
