Shelby Rotary Club recognizes Shelby 179th Airlift Wing Members

Pioneer Career & Technology Center hosted The Shelby Rotary Club and members of the 179th Airlift Wing, April 7, 2014.
Lynn Friebel, President of The Shelby Rotary Club, joined Shelby Mayor, Marilyn John, in recognizing members of the Shelby community for their service in the Air National Guard at the 179th Airlift Wing. Wing Commander, Colonel Gary McCue, spoke to the group of the important role the community support of Shelby has had historically, noting past commanders from Shelby and the outstanding contributions of current members.
The 179th is acquiring a total of 8 C-130H Hercules for their tactical airlift mission. One of the aircraft is planned to be dedicated "The Spirit of Shelby". An artist rendition of what the aircraft is expected to look like was presented to the crowd.
24 Members from Shelby were recognized. LtCol. Dawn Roberts, 1Lt. Nate McNary, TSgt Rebecca Neuenshwander, TSgt Kelly Dawson and TSgt Andrew Ensman, were able to attend the event.
