Airmen and their families participated in a variety of activities offered at the "Family Day" event, Sept. 14, 2019, at the 179th Airlift Wing, Mansfield, Ohio. The 179th Airlift Wing Airman and Family Readiness Program hosted the event with support from multiple community organizations. Without special donations from 501 organizations like “Friends of the 179 th” and “Friends of the 200th”, Family Day Committee, and Resource Organizations, outstanding events wouldn’t be possible.

A special thank you goes out to the visiting A KC-135 Stratotanker and crew from the 121st Air Refueling Wing, Columbus, Ohio, who allowed Airmen and their families to tour through the aircraft. The day also included activities like a fun run, a carnival zone, a Birds of Prey show, painting classes, bungee trampoline, laser tag, putt putt, mechanical shark rides, volleyball, yoga, dunk tanks, equipment displays by Security Forces, RED HORSE Squadron, and a USO Troupe show and so much more.

To end the day, a C-130H Hercules passed over the Wing, bringing deployed Airmen home. It was a great day to welcome the season of Fall, crisp weather, and football. The Wing highlighted suicide prevention and homeland readiness by enjoying families and friends and used the time to make new connections and build special bonds.
