179th AW Dedicates C-130H Spirit of Lexington

In honor of the relationship between the Village of Lexington and the 179th Airlift Wing and in recognition of the community's support and dedication to the military, the 179th Airlift Wing dedicated aircraft 82-0 056 C-130 Hercules, the "Spirit of Lexington", July 16, 2015. The dedication ceremony was centered on the C-130 as members of the 179th Airlift Wing gathered in the Maintenance hangar as the Mayor of Lexington unveiled the title "Spirit of Lexington" that was painted over the aircrew door. Each of the eight aircraft assigned to the military installation will be dedicated to supportive local communities.

Col. Todd Thomas, 179th Maintenance Commander, presented the special guests and the C-130H Crew Chiefs MSgt Kris Wolf, TSgt Nathan Koontz. Col. Thomas stated, "This will be a special day for our members, family, friends and our community. The dedication to the City of Ontario is in appreciation for all of the support that the community provides to the 179th Airlift Wing and its members."
